Activities for Adults
There is much for
adults to enjoy at Christ Church and St Mark's. You don't have
to be a church member to join in.
Bible Studies, discussion groups
and meetings for prayer are open to anyone wanting to deepen
their understanding and experience of the Christian faith.
Social events like dances, concerts,
music, quiz nights and filmshows are regular features of church
life. Many of these involve sharing pastimes or hobbies, are
suitable for people of all ages and are open to everyone, not
just churchgoers.
Other activities combine elements
of both, encouraging a deepening of spiritual experience in
a social setting.
This page lists various categories.
Just click on the underlined side headings that interest you

Church
Groups
There are meetings for prayer and
study, and some groups that combine a social and spiritual element.
They
offer a chance to get to know people and enjoy Christian friendships
and support.
You will also
find Emmaus
Courses mentioned. These are specifically
designed to help people explore what being a Christian is all
about and whether it might be the right way for them.

Social
events
There are some things here for the whole
age range. They range from a highly energetic table tennis club
to the more relaxed Travel Club.

Practical
Activities
There are occasions
when people meet do do some practical task together. Tasks range
from do-it-yourself work around the buildings to gardening and
caring for our church grounds.

From
time to time we invite people to take part in a 'working day'
and in August we usually have a 'working week' when we tackle
some of the bigger jobs.
